About me

“I am an architect by profession, but I have always felt a deep calling to painting. Since my conversion seven years ago, that calling has taken on a new meaning: I feel called to put my art and my brushes at the service of God, seeking through beauty to help others encounter Him and glimpse His face.”

My work

Sacred painting

Scenes and figures from the Christian tradition, painted in oil, for churches, chapels and homes.

Portraits

For me, portraiture is an exercise in observation that goes beyond resemblance. Through gesture, gaze and expression, I seek to capture something of the sitter’s personality — what makes a face recognisable not only through its features, but through its presence.

Polychromy

Colour, flesh tones and estofado for church images and nativity figures, respecting the carving and its character.

Repairs and repainting

Repair of privately owned religious images and devotional objects: broken pieces, lost colour, gilding and damage. Pieces of historical or heritage value are not accepted.

Rescued Pieces

From time to time, I search for old religious figures that have “something” about them, that awaken a sense of devotion in me. I carefully repair and repaint them so they may continue to help others draw closer to God. It is also my small tribute to those unknown artists who once created something beautiful for the glory of God.

Paschal candles

Each Paschal candle is conceived as a unique work, created to accompany the liturgy and express the mystery of the Resurrection through imagery. Each design is developed and painted entirely by hand, adapting the composition to the cylindrical surface and incorporating Christian iconography, symbolism and gilded details.

Devotional objects

Rosaries and small objects for personal prayer, also thought of as gifts for baptisms, first communions or weddings.

Abstract

Free work in which colour and texture take centre stage.
