Saint Francis composed the Canticle of the Creatures near the end of his life, amid profound physical and spiritual suffering. Yet from his pain arose a song of praise to God. Seen from above, all creation joins him in his praise. The work speaks of the peace and joy born from trusting in God, and the power of praise to lift us above suffering.
